About Me

- Location: Tallahassee, United States
I write fiction. My latest novel, Shriek: An Afterword, is now out in the US, published by Tor. I'm currently co-editing a series of anthologies with my wife, Ann, who is also the fiction editor of Weird Tales. We have three cats, all of whom have eccentric personalities. Soon, I will be moving to WordPress and my happiness will be complete.

Hi Jeff, great interview, and I like some of the points you brought up, especially the one about reviews. You're absolutely spot on there. I accept the fact that reviews can be quite subjective, and what someone finds good, another may find to be rubbish. But a lot of book reviews I read these days (especially genre stuff) seem to be too cautious, almost afraid to criticise authors that are especially well known, invariably tempering criticism with praise, which is not always deserved in some cases, at least from my experience.
