BEST MUSIC OF 2005--Erin Kennedy's Choices

My stepdaughter, Erin Kennedy, is a manager at the local music store, Vinyl Fever. Probably the best store in the Southeast, maybe the whole East. Still haven't found one that compares. Anyway, recently she deigned to write her top music choices of 2005 on a napkin for me, and here they is...a couple of them she discovered in 2005 but are from 2004.

The only one I recognise is Jolie Holland's "Escondida".

I saw her live a year ago and thought her very strange. She hid in the shadows of the stage, but her show was curiously compelling. It didn't help that the venue's sound system was awful. I saw her the next day at an In Store performance and spoke to her afterwards. What a surprise - she was very friendly afterall and not in the least strange.
